Jo Chapman (b. 1965) is a UK-based site-specific artist whose practice spans sculpture, drawing, installation and ceramics. Originally trained in embroidery at Birmingham School of Art (BA Hons, 1983–1986), she went on to gain an MA in Fine Art at Norwich School of Art & Design (2002–2004). With over 25 years' experience, she has delivered major public art commissions across the UK and internationally, including in France, India, Iceland and Ireland, moving between the boundaries of sculpture, drawing and architecture. She is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and an Associate Artist at the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich. Recent commissions include Ascent for the Thames Tideway in London, ChalkStack and the Alkerden Hub at Ebbsfleet, Confluence in Milton Keynes and Timekeeper in Cambridge. She has exhibited at venues including the London Art Fair and Kettle's Yard, undertaken residencies at Wysing Arts Centre, Firstsite and the Fish Factory in Iceland, and shown at the International Garden Festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire in France and at the Chelsea Flower Show. Jo lives and works in Suffolk, and occasionally in France.
