Contemporary and Country
One of the best and most dynamic galleries in the Eastern region, C&C's aesthetic range is broad -- yet each member in their stable of artists is a leader in their respective genre or practice.
Contemporary and Country shows work by artists and makers from across East Anglia. Since July 2025 it has conducted Viewing Room exhibitions at Woolmarket House, a mid-15th-century merchant's house in the medieval quarter of King's Lynn, with each edition given over to one or two artists for roughly a month.
The programme moves across painting, ceramics, sculpture, glass, printmaking and willow work, and the gallery sits inside a working guest house whose rooms are hung and furnished with the same contemporary art and found objects. It is run by Paul Vater and Paul Barratt.
