Jonathan Clarke, Steven Will and Liz Taunt

Sculpture by Jonathan Clarke, ceramics by Steven Will and printmaking by Liz Taunt: recent work by three well-established Suffolk-based artists whose practices rest on the processes that have engaged them for many years. The visual language each has developed prioritises the familiar, celebrating the everyday through the distillation of the subject.

Based in Bungay, Liz Taunt works in drypoint, lino, collagraph, monoprint and collage, with an experimental approach that creates abstract forms and invented visual ciphers somewhere between imagination and everyday experience.

Jonathan Clarke works primarily in sand-cast aluminium, making unique abstract sculptures that reference the figure and architecture. Raised in Suffolk and apprenticed to his father, the sculptor Geoffrey Clarke RA, he has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, drawing on social, spiritual and mythological themes.

Based near Orford on the Suffolk coast, Steven Will works with locally sourced beach clays, Coralline Crag, fossils, wood ash and plants in his ceramics and printmaking. His new, highly textural body of work is based on the Suffolk landscape and its erosion, decomposition and accretion.
