Stephanie Lacey

Stephanie Lacey draws hyper realistic animals and wildlife, and has run her fine art business since 2018. She was born in France to a French father and an English mother and spent her childhood there. She moved to England with her mother at the age of twelve.

She completed a Foundation Diploma in Art at the Norwich School of Art followed by a BA Honours degree in Fashion at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design in 2004, she then worked in fashion design management before turning to art full time. She was a finalist in Wildlife Artist of the Year, run by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, in 2021 and again in 2025, and was shortlisted for the Holt Festival Art Prizes in 2022 and again in 2026.

She was taught to draw as a child by her grandfather, himself a wildlife artist and graphic designer, who impressed on her the importance of understanding the anatomy of a subject in order to represent it accurately. Her work is stocked by galleries at Cromer, Thornham, King's Lynn and Harleston, and she occasionally takes commissions .
