Jane Scobie

Jane Scobie's work is deeply rooted in the rural landscape and the sea shore, it addresses themes of reparation and communication between species in the context of environmental threat. Jane's research led practice explores biodiversity, extraction and ocean literacy through sculpture, sound, performance and a participative practice that challenges species hierarchies. As an interdisciplinary visual artist her projects investigate how nature can act as a witness to climate breakdown and recovery and how extractive practices continue to dominate management of the coast and land. Jane has an MA in Arts and Science from Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design, University of the Arts London. She divides her time between Norfolk and London.

Her work includes a public art commission for Estuary Festival, made for the ARISE Engagement Programme, bringing communities together to explore our relationship with the coast.

Her recent exhibitions and awards include the Cromer Artspace Sculpture Open, the Proforma Compass Residency and a nomination for the Clifford Chance and UAL Sculpture Award, all in 2025.
