Artist Statement
My work is influenced by Cornwall, harbours, boats, houses and the works of Hepworth, Frost and Feiler. It’s about containment, safety, security and maternity. Everything starts with observational drawing and develops through a process of abstraction. Composition, relationships and colour are the most important elements in producing something that is recognised before it is understood.
