Sameer Tulaskar

Sameer Tulaskar is a Cambridge-based artist working in ink, pen and watercolour. Trained in Fine Art, Sameer spent more than 26 years in animation and VFX before turning to ink and pen drawing in 2024, building a practice grounded in urban sketching and plein air observation.

The work captures the essence of the places Sameer explores, reflecting the beauty and character of each scene and bringing vibrant streets, historic architecture and scenic landscapes to life. Each piece is a tribute to the particular charm of its location, made to share that spirit with art lovers near and far.

Artist Statement

Much of my work captures the architectural character and everyday atmosphere of places, particularly in Cambridge, where I sketch streets, colleges and quiet corners. Working on location allows me to respond directly to light, movement and mood, translating these fleeting moments into expressive line work and layered washes.

My work also explores atmospheric landscapes and the rhythms of daily life. Influenced by both Fine Art training and cinematic storytelling, I am drawn to scenes that feel lived-in and narrative, celebrating the beauty of everyday environments.
