Malgosia Benham
Malgosia Benham is a portrait artist working in pastel from a studio on Chesterton Road in Cambridge. She works in a vibrant colour palette, aiming to capture energy, movement and personality so that a portrait feels alive and in motion, and takes portraits of both people and pets.
Her own description of the work is the exploration of colour emerging from darkness. Alongside the portraits she runs MB One Designs, an architectural lighting practice whose projects include work at Canary Wharf, Gonville and Caius College, Great St Mary's church, Marshall Airport and Chelmsford, so light is a preoccupation on both sides of her practice. She takes part in Cambridge Open Studios, opening her studio each July.
