Neil Giles

Neil Giles (b.1973) is a contemporary artist based in Suffolk.

He studied Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins and works as a Creative Director in the retail brand and design sector, advising clients around the world. Neil began painting and exhibiting in 2015.

In his work, he explores free-ranging themes and methods of expression, dispensing with formal rules and embracing a graphic, sometimes naïve, expressive drawing style to create compositions drawn from experiences and memories.

His subjects range from landscape, imagined figures and characters to still life works drawn from his collection of contemporary ceramics.

Neil works mainly in oils and acrylics, with an emphasis on the tactile, textural expression which connects seemingly disparate pieces.

Neil currently has work placed with Catharine Miller at the Hollywood Road Gallery in London and Catesbys in the Cotswolds. In addition, he shows work at local shows throughout the year.
