Artist Statement

When I first took up art as a hobby 17 years ago I had no idea just how much a part of my life it would become. I have expanded my knowledge and understanding of painting, particularly in the field of watercolour and am now selling my art work at a number of local exhibitions throughout the year. I love painting landscapes, inspiration for which often comes from the beautiful wide open skies and countryside of Suffolk and Norfolk. But I also paint wildlife, animals and people. My work is very much an emotional response to the different scenes in life that surround me. The ultimate goal in all my paintings is to reflect the colour, light and shadows that draw me to the subject matter in the first instance.
