Kim Croysdill
Kim Croysdill is a ceramicist based in the village of Rumburgh in Suffolk, working under the name K C Design.
Alongside functional pottery, much of it made to commission, Croysdill makes sculptural work in clay: abstract figurative forms, faces set into driftwood, clustered organic and fungal forms, and multi-part installations. The raku vessels also become the ground for ikebana-inspired arrangements of plants, flowers and grasses.
Croysdill is one of the Rumburgh Artists, a group of five artists from the village who exhibit together, and takes part in Suffolk Open Studios.
Artist Statement
I design and make unique pieces of pottery. Mixing my own glazes and experimenting with Raku is a passion. No two pieces of pottery are ever exactly the same, this is down to the organic nature of clay and human touch.
