Belinda Opie
Belinda Opie has been involved in the craft world since 1980. She was one of the original stallholders in London's Covent Garden market and still trades there one day a week. From 1985 to 2007 she started and ran Goodies, a specialist dolls house and miniatures shop in Coggeshall, Essex. In 2007 she returned to study in London, taking two short courses at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and then joining a metal course at City Lit, and she has since studied sculpture at Morley College. She works from a workshop and studio on the slowly eroding cliff top overlooking Happisburgh beach on the Norfolk coast, making automata and sculpture from driftwood, beach-found material, cutlery, copper, brass and upcycled scrap. She has taken part in Norfolk Open Studios and North Norfolk Studios regularly since 2011, and has previously shown in London at the Morley Sculpture Society group exhibition and the Artists Open House events in Dulwich.
