Annie Green-Armytage

Annie Green-Armytage is a multi award-winning photographer, writer, and accredited psychotherapist, with work published regularly in books and magazines worldwide. Her background is in editorial garden photography (images and words), and more recently she has diversified into travel and the natural world.

Her passions are climate resilience and mental wellbeing. Today her mission is to help people to reconnect with, and value, the natural world in the face of climate breakdown, and to inspire active hope via conversation and positive action.

Her personal project on the Saltmarsh of North Norfolk is part of this. Her first solo exhibition featuring the project took place in 2026 at Norfolk Wildlife Trust, and then at Wells Maltings, both on the North Norfolk coast.

Recent awards include being a finalist in the Environment category of the Association of Photographer Awards for 2024 and 2025 (portfolio and single image); winner of the Beautiful Gardens category in the International Garden Photographer of the Year Competition 17; and Garden Media Guild Features Photographer of the Year in 2021.

Artist Statement

As time moves on, I am more and more aware of the value of this extraordinary planet. I am also more and more aware of the fragility of human and non-human life: animals, birds, insects, plants - the whole of our natural world.

So my focus has shifted towards linking photography and climate awareness, inviting conversation and deeper engagement with ecosystems and their vital role in our survival.

Showing how positive actions can start to make a difference if we join together to act collectively. Showing that in doing this, we can help to heal our own mental health as we realise we can be part of the solution, however small.

Together we can make a difference. And rather than looking for hope, maybe we can start creating it.
