Amy White
Amy White is an emerging artist and First Class BA Fine Art Graduate from Norwich University of the Arts, specialising in sculpture, film, and performance. She has worked with Norwich Museum's 'Kick the Dust' National Lottery Programme, collaborated with The Sainsbury Centre's 'Young Associates' and response to permanent collection exhibition, and curated the 2026 Interim (January 2026) and GradFest (June 2026) Exhibition for Norwich University of the Arts. Her practice thrives in community settings, where she improves accessibility to creative education through workshops and activities, and creates edible and immersive artworks that explore connection and consumption across a multitude of media.
She has recently exhibited in 'What We've Left Behind' at St Mary's Works (August 2026), 'Free Range' at Truman's Brewery (July 2026) been published in 'Storehouse #31: Nostalgia' (April 2026), and has joined SPARK! the Chelmsford youth movement.
Artist Statement
I am a mixed media artist whose practice often explores mortality and everday consumption.
Working across both sculpture and digital formats allows me to flexibly adapt each piece to a new space whilst maintaining their atmospheric quality.
I'm often inspired by the relationship between food and the body, feminist literature (both fictional and philosophical), and eating rituals. I enjoy recreating familiar activities and events like birthday parties and bus journeys to create uncanny stories and visuals. My practice often returns to the spectrum between disgust and pleasure, aiming to entice but also challenge my audience with themes of gender, identity, and social behaviours. I'm interested in whether we are really in control of our own preferences and greed. By working with mixed media, I can transform stationary objects into objects that communicate movement, transformation, and life.
