Artist Statement
After leaving art school, and through out my careers, I never stopped taking pictures. Photography was a way to keep in touch with my own vision. And as technology evolved so did my way of interpreting what I photographed. Layering photos through the photomontage process brings a depth to the storytelling of each image. I grew up drawing and painting things that were inside my head, not in front of my eyes. With photography, I can take pictures of things in front of my eyes and turn them into something that's inside my head. I am now experimenting with mixed-media to bring singularity and dimensionality to my images.
