Victoria Matthews

Victoria Matthews is a visual artist, videographer and writer whose work explores environmental and more-than-human themes. She is fascinated by wildlife, esoteric knowledge and alternative ways of understanding, and uses poetic and immersive techniques to create empathetic and tangible connections with nature, believing that only by experiencing this vibrancy can we begin to live more responsibly and ethically in the world.

Her installation works include Salt: See: Hare and Extimacy, alongside the poetry collection Proximity.

She also works as a documentary maker, and has made films about animal rescue and conservation for organisations including Animals Asia, Free the Bears and Colchester Zoo.
