Renata Adela
Renata Adela is a British-Spanish artist based in rural Suffolk and London. She works across a wide range of materials, moving between sculpture, painting, mixed-media work, etching, embroidery and drawing. Her artworks, which touch upon themes of sexuality, salvation and oppression are executed flawlessly across a kaleidoscope of techniques, and manage to provoke outrage and laughter, perfectly combining the visceral with the intellectual, perversity with irony.
Her work has been shown in group exhibitions including FBA Futures at the Mall Galleries, London (2018), Women | Matter at SPARC* Spazio Arte Contemporanea, Venice (2021), Bucolia, a group show in Walpole, Suffolk (2021), and BIG WOMEN, the group show curated by Sarah Lucas at Firstsite, Colchester Museum (2023).
