Karen Hall (Tullett)
A recent graduate from Colchester University with a Ba (hons) Fine Art Degree, Karen has taught arts and crafts besides hosting various workshops in Lino printing, Encaustic basics and Oil painting here in Essex and Eastbourne in East Sussex. She has shown and sold work in local fairs in Spain and, since graduation, has begun selling and showing her work in local and regional exhibitions.
Artist Statement
Nature is my inspiration, it could be a colour or a shape or even a feeling of a place. I’m quite experimental often combing mediums to produce my work. Encaustic which is mix of Beeswax and Damar resin is my preferred medium which is used hot, building up many layers, I use a blowtorch to fuse the layers together. The flame becomes my paint brush.
