Jane Stewart
Jane Stewart is an environmental and community artist who makes sculpture from things other people throw away. Her ocean going vessels are a series of jugs and vases built entirely from beach-found rope and other flotsam and jetsam, gathered both near her home and abroad.
She works with recycled and found materials throughout her practice, and has run environmental engagement projects funded by the Essex Arts and Culture fund, employing other artists who work in recycled materials and working with young people from a financially deprived area and young people with learning disabilities.
