Lindsey Way

Lindsey uses fine liner pens and coloured pencils to produce lively drawings. Her subjects are varied, mainly birds and animals. She is always on the lookout for interesting animals and likes to include a variety of textures. Her recent works includes an elephant and a tortoise, her random swirling pen strokes depicting the rough and folded skin texture. In contrast her 'just hanging' Sloth has long rough hair, her technique captures the relaxed sloth perfectly.

She also works in pastels creating vibrant landscapes. She is particularly interested in trees and the contrast of light and shadow.

Artist Statement

I have always been inspired by a challenge. I concentrate on accurately depicting the contrast between the light and dark areas, and on the expression captured in a moment in time. I also enjoy experimenting with different mediums, soft pastels and watercolours.
