Drew Boroianu
Following an academic training in the Humanities and a career teaching mathematics, Oxbridge-educated Anglo-Romanian artist Drew Boroianu now devotes his time solely to creative work.
From digitally inspired geometric abstractions that are wholly handmade to expressive pipette portraits in granulated watercolour, Drew pushes at the limits of his aesthetic and technical abilities in a never-ending quest for meaningful novelty.
Artist Statement
I am energised by the interplay between vision, technique and expression and how that interaction is both facilitated and undermined by encroaching digital technologies.
My artistic practice aims to keep this interplay in constant personal motion, expanding the creative landscape that unfolds before me and affording opportunities to explore ever more distinctive features as they appear.
