Brigitte Girling

Born in Woodbridge, Suffolk, Brigitte grew up in nearby Framlingham, where she spent a childhood immersed in nature, exploring the surrounding countryside with friends and her beloved family dog, Sam. This early freedom to wander, observe, experiment and play continues to inform her creative practice today.

Creativity has been a constant thread throughout Brigitte’s life and career. Before dedicating herself to painting, she established an internationally recognised floral design business, becoming known for her pioneering use of seasonal, locally grown, pesticide-free flowers. Her loose, garden-inspired arrangements celebrated the beauty, fragility and imperfections of the natural world helping to shape the naturalistic floral movement in the UK.

Now a self-taught artist, Brigitte draws on these experiences to create playful, naïve still-life paintings inspired by her imagination and memories of everyday life. Her work reflects a deep affection for flowers, nature, ordinary domestic objects and the often-overlooked moments that quietly shape our days. Through colour, character and storytelling, she invites viewers to pause and discover beauty in the familiar, ordinary and often overlooked.
