Archie Browning

Archie Browning (b. 1990) was born and raised on a small fifth-generation farm in Essex, and has been taught by his mother, the sculptor Lucy Lutyens. His work is intuitively intertwined with the land he has been working on since childhood, and has been described as "earthy and prehistoric" - the strong connection with previous custodians, life and death, seasons and rebirth are key themes in his work and his life on the farm. He has spent extensive periods learning his craft abroad from traditional artisans in India, Italy, Mexico and the UK.

He has exhibited at sculpture shows across the country, including Sculpture at Beaulieu, Doddington Hall, Delamore Arts, Fresh Air at Quenington and the Moncrieff-Bray Gallery, and closer to home at Marks Hall Estate, Sculpt Gallery, Art at the Park at Braxted Park, and Colchester Art Society's summer and winter exhibitions.
