South Quay Gallery & Learning Centre

Recommended

South Quay Gallery & Learning Centre is a contemporary gallery on the quay at Great Yarmouth, in a Grade II listed building that has been reworked to hold a dedicated exhibition space, a room for workshops and classes, and a small cafe.

It opened in April 2026 and shows a new exhibition roughly every month, alongside an annual Open Show selected by a panel of judges and an artist in residence programme. Recent shows have included Trevor Burgess, Darren Barker, Colin Millington and Douglas Farthing, and the gallery has a particular interest in artists working in and around Great Yarmouth.

The gallery is run by Pete and Moira Huggins, who live in the building, and who describe Kettle's Yard in Cambridge as the model they are working towards: somewhere calm and inclusive that people can drop into and linger.

Entry is free. There is a car park adjacent to the building, and the gallery is wheelchair accessible.
