Gray Area Gallery

Gray Area Gallery is a contemporary art gallery on West End Street in Norwich, founded in March 2024 by Kenza Gray and Marie-Laurence Boisvert. Its programme is fully curated and changes through the year, taking in painting, ceramics, textiles, printmaking and mixed media.

The gallery's stated aim is to display art that falls in the grey area of what is usually shown, and to bring people together around the work of under-represented voices. It represents a group of emerging artists including Harriet Atkinson, Dan Bloodworth, Caitlin Flood-Molyneux, Daniel Franklin, Kenza Gray and Mark Mann, and shows a far wider range of artists through its exhibitions, among them a summer group show selected from an annual open call.

Alongside the contemporary programme the gallery holds a collection of Japanese woodblock prints, which it exhibits in its own right, and deals in secondary market work by artists including Marina Abramovic, Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Keith Haring, Lucio Fontana, Marino Marini, Kazuo Shiraga and Toko Shinoda.

The gallery exhibits at art fairs and curates exhibitions in other venues as well as its own, and offers art consultancy and photography services. It also hosts workshops and events at the gallery.
