Ryan Gander: Prosaic Times
18 Jul 2026 – 24 Aug 2026
In the spirit of play and the absurd, Ryan Gander has situated one of his giant inflatable balls — from his series of giant inflatable balls, each carrying an equally absurd text or question — inside the gallery space, jamming the door shut. Visitors view the show from the street, and are invited to contribute their own questions at the artist's request, to expand the possibilities of the project. It began with the question "Do ghosts have teeth?", so the more obscure, illogical, nonsensical and unanswerable the better. Questions can be written on the pen, pencils and post-it notes provided and dropped into the gallery post-box.
The show closes with a finissage on Saturday 22 August, 2–6pm, when Ryan Gander reads out all the questions visitors have contributed for further scrutiny and fun, over drinks. It also marks the fifth birthday of 303 Projects. Full details are in a separate listing on East England Art.
