Curating Beyond the Frame: Symposium by the Sea

A one-day symposium on who gets access to culture, and what geography has to do with it. Access to culture should not depend on where you live, yet for many people in rural, coastal and outer-urban places, it still does.

The day brings together artists, organisations, funders and communities to examine how cultural landscapes can become more equitable, to look at what is already happening outside the usual cultural centres, and to consider what could happen next.

The symposium runs alongside Cromer Open 2026 at Artspace on the Prom. The programme is supported by Bloomberg Connects, Arts Council England and Cliftonville.
