Artists on Tour

A pop-up exhibition by a collective of long-standing artist friends, most of whom live in the New Forest. Each brings a distinct professional background to the show, from architecture and acting to writing and design. As Lizzy May, one of the organisers, puts it, there is an author, a furniture designer, an architect and an actor among them, but they share a life-long love of creating, connecting through painting and the joy of the outdoors.

The group takes over the Lookout with a selection of their latest work: abstract wild swimmers by Lucy Bennett, vibrant screen prints by Jessica Scott and delicate ceramics by Geraldine Somerville, while Caroline Burvill, Daphne Pigott and Lizzy May depict the landscape in oils, and Candida Meyrick paints sweeping skyscapes inspired by her experience of flying her hawk.

Throughout the week the artists will be spending time in the Lookout, keen to talk about their work and their inspiration.
