I've been making sculptural and wheel thrown ceramics since the late 90s. Initially, I did focus on more sculptural works often as a vessel form. These formed a blank canvass for various patina and glaze surfaces by using the process of Raku firing. In later years I have returned to more loosely wheel thrown pots for the sheer pleasure of making, the two strands of my work seem to serendipitously intertwine with one another. Currently, I am working on high fired volcanic glaze pieces which whilst although not as directly hands-on as the Raku process are just as uniquely challenging.
