Jennie Mace

Jennie Mace is a painter in oils based on Mersea Island, Essex, and a member of Mersea Island Artists and the Colchester Art Society.

She trained as a medical scientist in microbiology at the Middlesex Hospital Medical School. She was later accepted at the Colchester Technical College art school, but a torn ligament in her arm meant she had to leave after a year. She has since studied with the painters John Miller, Jeremy Le Grice, David Mynett, Edmund Fairfax-Lucy, Roger Dellar, Chris Forsey and Graham Webber.

Her subjects range from the sea, marshes and estuary boats to flowers and animals. Her work is shown at the Hayletts Gallery, Caxton in Frinton and the Hunter Gallery, and her paintings have sold in America, Germany, France, Arabia and New Zealand: one has sailed around the world on a yacht, and another lies at the bottom of the Mediterranean.
