Claire Fenwick
Claire is a contemporary artist interested in exploring her surroundings through colour and form. She studied art at Colchester Institute then gained an art degree at Middlesex University in London. She continued her practice while living for several years in Bristol, then Leeds. Previous group exhibitions include The Mall Galleries, London, Snape Maltings, Suffolk and The Minories, Colchester, Essex. As a member of Colchester Art Society Claire has recently exhibited at Firstsite, Colchester and Beecroft Gallery, Southend, Essex.
Artist Statement
Having settled in rural Essex where my family heritage is deeply rooted, my ideas are informed by my surroundings, developed via imagination, then distilled with a process led approach. I create work through painting and print making, providing me with differing technical challenges that push my figurative and abstract ideas forward.
