Gary Birch
Gary studied Visual Communication at Bath Academy of Art between 1973-76. The course was a mix of graphics illustration, printmaking and photography.
After working as a fashion magazine designer and an assistant set designer at the BBC, he spent the last 35 years directing ‘corporate’ films.
He now devotes his time to his first love, painting and collage works, as well as street and landscape photography.
Artist Statement
My mixed media works and photographs move between abstract collages and street or landscape photography, reflecting my spontaneous and intuitive approach. My artistic style is deliberately unplanned and unrestrained. My artworks invite viewers to connect with my inner world and the sense of freedom I experience through making art.
