Artist Statement

I love painting the coastline, creeks and estuaries and landscapes of Suffolk and Essex, a constant source of inspiration, delight and fascination. Although not the easiest of mediums to use, I find part of the charm of watercolour is in its unpredictability and how it will ebb and flow across the paper.

Through my paintings and collages I aim to capture not only the physical character of the landscape, but also the feeling of being within it, its rhythms, its history and its enduring capacity to restore, inspire and remind us of our connection to the natural world.
