The Old Grocery

The Old Grocery is an exhibition space in a Victorian corner shop at 48 High Street, Wivenhoe. The original shopfront survives, lettered Old Grocery Artspace, and the interior is a single room with white walls, a wooden floor and track lighting. The gallery describes itself as contemporary art in a Victorian setting.

It is available for hire by the week for exhibitions, by the day for pop-ups and workshops, and by the evening for events, so its programme is made by the artists and groups who take it. Shows have included solo and group exhibitions, selling shows and charity exhibitions by artists from Wivenhoe and around north Essex.
