Laura Weekes Gallery

Laura Weekes Gallery occupies 9 Fish Hill in the centre of Holt, the premises previously run as Utopia: The Unexpected Gallery. Weekes worked there as gallery assistant, and took the space on herself in January 2026 after six years of selling her own work online.

She is an abstract painter, working in volumes of texture and metallic paint across both neutral and colourful palettes, and largely in landscape form. Her subjects come from severe weather and light and from ancient buildings, and she paints unconventionally, using hardware tools and her hands rather than brushes, which she finds picks up detail, catches the metallic reflections and defines structure.

Alongside her own painting the gallery carries a standing group of artists in residence working across painting, ceramics and sculpture. Prints, frames and restored antique furniture are sold too.
