Ballroom Arts
Ballroom Arts is a project space for the arts and events on Aldeburgh High Street, a few steps from the beach. The building was formerly the Peter Pears Gallery, named for the tenor and partner of Benjamin Britten, and was redesigned and renovated in 2021 to give two distinctive open-plan spaces used for exhibitions and events through the year.
Both spaces are hired by the week rather than programmed in house. The Courtyard Gallery, once the Garage Gallery, is the smaller of the two on the ground floor; The Ballroom is the larger space on the upper floor, reached by lift. The gallery is linked by an archway to 152 High Street and sits in the Aldeburgh conservation area, within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Landscape.
