Seven Decades of Contemporary Art: Norfolk Contemporary Art Society at Norwich Castle

Marking the 70th anniversary of the Norfolk Contemporary Art Society (founded 1956), this exhibition brings together more than thirty works that the society's members have helped Norwich Castle acquire over seven decades. The display traces the changing contemporary art scene through pieces by artists including Prunella Clough, L.S. Lowry, Bridget Riley, Eduardo Paolozzi, Colin Self, Maggi Hambling, Allen Jones and Roger Ackling, alongside recent additions such as Florence Peake's paintings and photographic surveys of Norwich by Daniel & Clara and the 'Wall Existing' project. It celebrates the artists, audiences and supporters who have shaped the society and its collecting since its earliest collectively acquired work.
