Syd Barrett: 80th Birthday Celebration Exhibition

This year marks what would have been Roger "Syd" Barrett's 80th birthday. Openspace will be hosting a major exhibition of his original paintings and sketches, along with prints of larger works.

The exhibition will also include work by contemporary artists, including his nephew Ian Barrett, Mark Wilkinson, Mikey Georgeson, James Wilkinson, Rob Martin, Spadge Hopkins and Justin Wiggan.

A day of talks on Syd Barrett takes place on Friday 9 October. At 2pm Rob Chapman will talk about his book 'A Very Irregular Head', widely considered to be the definitive biography of Syd Barrett. At 5pm director Roddy Bogawa, with producers Rupert Truman and Julius Beltrame, will talk about making their film 'Have You Got It Yet?' and show previously unseen outtakes.
