Where Colour Grows: Amy Wormald

4 Sep 2026 - 4 Oct 2026

Where Colour Grows is a solo exhibition of original paintings by Amy Wormald at The Old Fire Engine House Gallery in Ely. The paintings celebrate the local landscape and flora in punchy colour and uplifting energy.

Among the works is the title painting, Where Colour Grows, in acrylic, spray paint and pencil on canvas.

The Old Fire Engine House is a three-storey Georgian house in central Ely, a few minutes' walk from the cathedral, which can be seen from the upstairs gallery window. Built in the mid 18th century, the house once kept Ely's horse-drawn fire engine, and it has been a restaurant and gallery since 1968.

The main gallery space is upstairs, with no lift access. Visitors enter by the main restaurant reception and walk up the stairs to browse the gallery; there is no need to be dining. There is a small amount of street parking outside, and a larger free public car park on Barton Road.
