Time by Luxmuralis

Time by Luxmuralis is an immersive light and sound installation by Luxmuralis, the artistic collaboration between the sculptor and artistic director Peter Walker and the composer David Harper. Together they make the projected artworks, light installations and soundscapes that have been shown everywhere from Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London to Washington National Cathedral. This is their first visit to Norwich Cathedral.

Time explores humanity's relationship with the concept of time, as a journey through history, science and imagination. Visitors move through the Cathedral past a series of installations that portray humans as seen through different eras, explore the theories of relativity, and draw on the text of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine. Through the projected artworks they traverse wormholes, venture inside the workings of clocks, and follow a narrative that runs from the present day back to the very beginning of everything, ending in a finale in the Nave.

Entry is through the Cloister by timed ticket, at 15-minute intervals, and visitors can stay as long as they like; a visit lasts about 45 minutes on average. Advance booking is strongly advised. A free essential companion ticket is available for disabled visitors who need one, and there is an accessible route through the experience.
