Peter Unsworth: Paintings

A selection of paintings by Peter Unsworth.

Born in 1937, Peter studied at Middlesbrough School of Art and St Martin’s in London, later exhibiting extensively in the UK and internationally.

Peter Unsworth’s paintings hold you still - there are figures caught mid-thought, landscapes that feel familiar yet just out of reach, as well as stories the artist leaves for you to finish. The paintings on show are drawn from the collection of the late Sir John Hurt, plus two brand new works never before seen by the public.

We welcome Unsworth’s work home, in a sense. Peter spent years living in cottages across our sister estate at Wolterton, so this exhibition at Mannington Gallery marks a special occasion.
