Heidi Wigmore - State of Her

State of Her brings together three decades of Heidi Wigmore’s art in one sharp, unflinching take on contemporary womanhood, taking up the entire ground floor of Beecroft Gallery.

The retrospective features Wigmore’s exploration of the female form through drawing, painting, film, photography, banners and found objects. Occupying a space between fine art, popular culture and social critique and drawing upon mass media imagery, archetypes and art histories, the exhibition presents a distinctive hybrid visual language that challenges and subverts the representation of women in public and private space.
