Billy Sassi: The Prince's Seat

Billy Sassi's project takes an amateur actor's obsessive impersonation of Laurence Olivier as a way to examine the contradictions and physical tolls of aspirational embodiment. Through film and darkroom prints of a rented costume, the work explores how we grasp at fading legacies and performative roles.
