Guy Allen
Guy Allen was born in Norfolk in 1987 and works as a printmaker and draughtsman from his studio and gallery at Glandford, near Holt, on the north Norfolk coast. He studied at Central Saint Martins from 2008 to 2011 and discovered the printing press on a trip to the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he took up etching. His work brings together colour, gold leaf and a contemporary approach to the traditional art of the etching, and the Norfolk countryside and its animals remain his central subject. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in two consecutive years and won the Diana Brooks Prize at the Mall Galleries in 2018. He supports a number of arts charities each year, among them Art For Youth, EACH, Keeping A Breast, Art For Cure, Marie Curie UK and Well Child.
