The Robert Cripps Gallery
The Robert Cripps Gallery is a dedicated exhibition space at Magdalene College, Cambridge, showing visiting exhibitions alongside selections from the College's own art collection. It opened in November 2021 and is named for Robert Cripps AM, an art collector, benefactor and Magdalene Honorary Fellow.
The gallery sits inside the New Library, the college's award-winning building on Magdalene Street, and is open to the public as well as to students and staff. Visitors reach it through the Porters' Lodge on Magdalene Street, and entry is to the gallery only rather than the rest of the library.
Its programme runs to a few substantial exhibitions a year, curated and often accompanied by talks: recent shows have paired contemporary artists around a theme and drawn on East Anglian collections.
