Window to the Soul: Immersive Virtual Gallery Experience

Join artist Hannah Aria for an immersive virtual gallery presentation showcasing artwork, poetry and creative writing from women and girls from Afghanistan based in both the UK and Afghanistan. The experience features innovative 'talking paintings' — combining portraiture with written contributions brought to life through voice acting and motion-graphics technology — projected in the Cinema while Hannah personally guides visitors through the works. Window to the Soul is a research initiative bridging arts, technology and social justice to amplify the voices of Afghan women and girls and emphasise their educational rights; it launched in 2023 following a Firstsite bursary and has since been funded by the British Council and Arts Council England.
