Sax Arts Fest 2026
13 Jun 2026
Sax Arts Fest is a one-day takeover of central Saxmundham. On Saturday 13 June, The Art Station turns its own buildings — The Old Bank (24 High Street) and The Telephone Exchange (48 High Street) — along with the High Street, Fromus Green, Saxmundham Library, the Fromus Centre, St John's Church and the Market Hall, into a traffic-free, all-day cultural festival.
The programme spans **live music** (BBC Introducing's Angelle Joseph hosts, with Frankie Freeman, Eliza Gold, The Frestonians, Lara Price, Ewan D Rogers, the Ipswich Hospital Band, Xambi and many more), **theatre** (The Shake Festival's *The Reluctant Dragon* with Zab Soanes and Wendy Morgan, Indigo Moon Theatre's *SeedHeart*, and an Eastern Angles special-effects make-up workshop), **a Wordspace strand** of poetry readings curated with Poetry in Aldeburgh plus zine-making and illustration workshops, and a **grand finale (8–10 pm)** featuring the Xambi concert (8–9 pm, £10) followed by William Wallace and Henry Driver's tree-mapping and fire-horse installation (9–10 pm).
Almost everything is free; only the Xambi concert requires a ticket.
