Port to Port -- Sophie Giller

Port to Port is a striking large-scale textile installation by artist Sophie Giller celebrating the maritime heritage and communities of Suffolk’s historic port towns — Lowestoft, Ipswich, and Felixstowe.

Composed of sail-shaped patchworks created with local residents, the work weaves together personal memories, photographs, found objects, drawing, and stitch to create a richly layered portrait of place, identity, and collective memory. As the project travels between Suffolk’s coastal communities, it evolves into a powerful living archive of the region’s shared history.

Arriving at The Art Station this September, Port to Port offers a moving reflection on Suffolk’s enduring relationship with the sea.

After Art Station, Port to Port will move to Felixstowe.
