Ffiona Lewis: Slung Mugs

“Slung Mugs” is the name of a musical instrument devised by Britten for his opera Noye’s Fludde, now in the collection at The Red House.

Borrowing it as a starting point, Ffiona Lewis brings together oil paintings, weavings, woolworks and photographs that reflect her absorption in the extraordinary house, garden and archive that were Britten and Pears’ home and studio — the ordinary made extraordinary.
