Art Is Resistance: Painting Through Trauma Towards Hope

Fayza Yousef Saed is a working artist, an art therapist and a trained journalist. Since leaving Gaza with her three children following her husband's death, she has used painting to navigate personal trauma and preserve memories of her homeland. The work she has made since arriving in Cairo blends documentary painting with emotional surrealism. Fayza now dedicates substantial time to art therapy with displaced children who have experienced parental loss, guiding them through trauma via creative expression; her paintings serve the dual purposes of healing and remembrance, preserving Gaza's memory through colour and form.
